Open Board

The Board of Trustees serves not only the Johnson County community at large, but also each and every student, staff member, administrator, and faculty member.  As such, the Board must be open and available to all its constituents.  All matters that are brought to the Board deserve careful consideration.

As a member of the Board, I will be available to all my constituents.  I will treat their concerns with seriousness and respect.

Transparency

The Board must operate in a manner free from self-dealing and hidden agendas.  All Board actions must be held to public scrutiny, and must avoid even the appearance of impropriety.

As a member of the Board, I will hold the Board to the highest standards.

Dignity and Respect Previous Board members have been censured by the JCCC Faculty Association for alleged violations of the Board of Trustees Code of Conduct, and a Board Member has been voted "No Confidence" by not only the Faculty Association, but also the entire college staff and administration.

A Board that does not treat its constituents with dignity and respect does not deserve to govern.

The College must have a Board that it, and the rest of the community, can trust and have confidence in.

My first priority on the new Board will be to restore that trust.

Continued Excellence The first responsibility of the Board of Trustees is to work to ensure and enhance the excellence that has been the hallmark of JCCC for 35 years.

As a member of the Board, I will never forget that Board exists to serve the College.
